Antenna

168,000.00

The Antenna makes deployment of the Underwater GPS G2 baseline fast and easy.

It contains 4 acoustic receivers which are held accurately in place by the antenna structure. This creates a perfect receiver baseline for the Underwater GPS system without the need to measure distances for each receiver separately.

The construction is based on a foldable aluminum tube system which makes the Antenna easily portable when folded.

Mounting options

All antennas are supplied with a RAM Mount which makes it easy to mount the antenna to most boats or other structures. When deploying the antenna, you simply use the twist and lock feature of the RAM Mount to secure it in place.

If you want to extend the mounting options, additional RAM Mount components are available from their distributors around the world.

PS: The RAM Mount and the antenna is not designed for motion applications and may be damaged or broken if the boat is driving while the Antenna is submerged.

Does this small baseline really work?

The Antenna is equipped with special receivers designed specifically for this small setup. In the Underwater GPS GUI you will find an option to select the Antenna as your baseline. This enables a new positioning algorithm that takes into account the fixed receiver placement.

When using separate cabled receivers, the positioning algorithm have to take into account that the receivers may not be absolutely fixed in place fully stable. With the antenna solution, this situation is completely removed and the algorithms can be tightened up to allow for the small baseline.

Antenna vs. Separate Receivers

The Antenna is a very good solution for most situations and should be your go-to option.

Separate receivers still enables the most flexible setup of very custom designed or large baselines. This may in turn give you additional performance on long range applications and in very acoustic reflective areas. Separate receivers can also be supplied with up to 100m cables whereas the Antenna cable is limited to 10 meters. This makes the separate receivers a more flexible solution for large vessels.
